This pic was taken just before I headed out to host a Single Malt Scotch tasting on Bainbridge Island, WA. The tartan is Stevenson. This is the kilt I wear for work when I host whisky events. The Oban distillery was founded by the Brothers Stevenson. It's the official Diageo Master of Whisky tartan.
This one is my family tartan (Campbell). Also taken before hosting a whisky tasting event.

i haven't read the wildly popular books, but i've found the new hbo television series, game of thrones to be quite entertaining.
so far, two episodes have aired, and i think i'm hooked.
there are more than a few interesting characters, both good, bad and in between.
So far, very entertaining. Never read the books either, but I think I should get started.

Any book or magazine will be difficult to burn because the stacked paper makes it hard for oxygen to circulate between the pages. No oxygen=no fire. If you were to remove each page individually and burn them that way, it would be much easier.

I really want to see it, but I can't stand Helena Bonham Carter as an actress. Same thing with Natalie Portman as to why I haven't seen Black Swan yet.
While I'm on my rant, I'm sick of avoiding movies that I really want to see due to the fact that Mark Wahlberg is in EVERYTHING. How is this waste of celluloid still getting all of this work? He sucks! I call it the Kevin Costner Syndrome. How did that guy ever get a role in anything? He's terrible!

Don't take the critiscism too hard, Lil. If your daughter really wants to pursue a carreer as an artist who sells paintings, she is going to have to get used to constant critical review of her work, constructive or otherwise. You have to develop not only a thick skin in this business, but also a mind that is open to critical reiew of your work. Not everybody is going to like it. That's just the way it is.
Sure, Ashikae's critical words about your daughter's work may seem harsh, but this is exactly the same type of treatment that she will get from art critics and gallery owners everywhere. Might as well start getting used to it now.
I do believe, however, that truly constructive critiscism involves both citing positive aspects of the work as well as suggestions on how to improve.

it appears to me that even in the few months that i have been here there is less and less emphasis on jehovah's witnesses and anything remotely related to jws and more very poor posts about politics, foreign affairs and celebrities.
i can't omit the juvenile sex ones, which i find lacking in erotic nature.
it seems the 6th grade boys are meeting in the locker room.. the posts that involve jws have a very different tone from the drivel posted on others.
Reminds me of the joke of the guy who tells his doctor that something hurts when he touches it and the doc tells him to stop touching it

If someting doesn't strike my intrest, I just leave it to others who are interested and I move on. It's sort of like television...instead of complaining about what you're seeing, you are free to change the channel or turn it off.
I wonder if and when people will ever come to see the wisdom in these very simple ideas. It is so arrogant of people to nurture the mindset that if soemthing doesn't appeal to them, then it shouldn't appeal to anyone.
Personally, I find the deep, meaty, WT history, numerology, was-this-greek-scripture-properly-translated, what-was-Paul-really-trying -to-say-here threads to be mind-numbingly boring. So, I avoid them. Pretty simple.
I would much rather read about a good book or a great movie or even a juvenile sex thread. But that's just me. Different strokes, folks.
